Young people are gaining great benefit from learning experiences taking place beyond the school building, this is particularly evident in those schools that have embraced the Forest Schools initiative at Key Stage 1 and 2. In the secondary phase new cohort of learners have gained greatly both academically and socially from these exciting outdoor learning experiences. This workshop specifically explores ways in which secondary schools can continue to develop outdoor learning experiences initiated in the primary phase through the use of mobile devices and access to the web via data networks, GPS and wireless networks and features online collaboration, augmented reality, data harvesting, QR codes and student response systems. The presentation has been created using the animated presentation tool www.powtoon.com
